Kirtland Commons celebrated its ribbon cutting on April 30, 2018, nearly 4 months after the housing authority started to move new residents into the 18 unit addition.
During the ceremony representatives of the Connecticut Department of Housing and Connecticut Housing Finance Authority applauded the housing authorities director Joann Hourigan and Kirtland Commons Board for their dedication and perseverance in getting the project completed. Board member Lisa Johnson compared the endeavor of planning and constructing the addition as an expedition up Mt. Everest but concluded by thanking all that participated in bringing the project to a successful completion.
“Brian Cleveland of Buchanan Architects stepped in and tackled every challenge head on,”
“LaRosa Building Group was phenomenal. Their expertise, patience, and generosity was absolutely amazing.”
